MeVis BreastCare co-operates with the R&D center Fraunhofer MeVis, Institute for Medical Image Computing, in the areas of softcopy reading in mammography, contrast enhanced breast MRI, and ultrasound, and in the area of wavelet-image compression.

The Medical Imaging and Computer Aided Diagnosis group at UMC is actively involved in development of CAD technology. The research focus is on breast cancer applications. Close cooperations exist with the "National Expert and Training Centre for Breast Cancer Screening" in Nijmegen.
